He is risen. He is risen indeed.
Today was the most beautiful day. We started the morning with warm cinnamon rolls (which is the way we celebrate most holidays) and proceeded to dye Easter eggs outside in the sunshine.
And at one point we bribed Cupcake and Dakoda to wear bunny ears with their favorite treats, which was maybe our favorite part of the day. Happy Easter.
This week was especially sunny and warm. Almost hot enough to convince us that summer is on it’s way. Almost.
So on a particularly bright afternoon, we loaded up our beach cruisers as fast as we could and headed to the lake for some waterfront riding and togetherness picture taking.
Today we drove two hours to meet up with the family, and then another hour, to celebrate brother Raul’s birthday with a hike to the highest point in the Santa Monica mountains.
It was Dakoda’s first hike, and although she slept the entire car ride home, she had the best day. That dog has endless energy.
We ate lunch at the very top and wrote notes to leave in a mailbox on the peak. Sunburned and thirsty we ended our long (long) hike with ice cream, and red bull.
Jesse and I have a certain adoration for sushi and lunch dates together. The two things, when combined, kind of just makes us ridiculously happy.
So last week amidst running errands and waiting for our turn at the Apple genius bar, we stopped into our favorite sushi spot for some yummy bento boxes and a mid afternoon break.
