This is by all means the story of us. I am Lauren Johnson, he is Jesse Shane and we are madly in love. We are realists taking residence in a self made fantasy existence. We see the world as it is but we refuse to succumb to the molded standards of a hesitant society. You see, we are full of life and we love to live and in this way we want to share our excitement with anyone who could use a little piece of happiness, everyone who needs inspiration, and even the person looking for a great place to eat.

We are self proclaimed foodies and perhaps a little infatuated with food, wine and all things delicious. We love sushi, sake, Thai food, and anything with eggplant. We’ll drive 45 minutes to find the perfect cupcake and 3 hours to taste the White House’s wine. In fact… we will drive pretty much anywhere because we love road trips. We eat Yogurtland at least twice a week and Starbucks seasonal lattes nearly every day. It is safe to say we are easily excited and probably daydream more than the average person. We have a unique obsession with graffiti and unexpected art and are not opposed to creating our own.

Somewhere around the third month anniversary of our little blog we realized that besides being an outlet for excess creativity our little story had developed somewhat of a personality & was desperately in need of a more dedicated focus. How it took us close to 20 entries to realize some sort of actual direction would be beneficial is beyond me, I will just write it off to our busy schedules and not a lack of observation skills.

In any event what we needed was a mission statement of sorts. Something to help organize our often overwhelming thoughts. The goal was simple…love and be happy.

The art of living we have come to understand is less about the breathing-to-live phenomenon and is in every way about the love you breathe into each day. A day is comprised of seemingly insignificant moments, however when strung together with excitement and meaning each of these instances becomes a valued moment of our existence. We live to love…and we love simply because we cannot help it.

And that is what we are about. The secret to our happiness is that we love each and every day we are given. We love and we live. We’re glad to have you here.
